Flight, Aviation & Mission Records
MREC-08: Aviation records linking qualifications, flight activity, aircraft/crew identity, mission participation, combat reporting, mishaps, and operational chronology.
What this record can establish
Flight qualifications; logged flight activity; named crew or aircraft; mission or sortie data where the individual is identified; reported combat activity.
What it does not establish automatically
Squadron totals, aircraft-carrier operations, or an air-group history do not establish an individual’s specific sortie. Recommendations or reported scores are not equivalent to official award or claims adjudication.
Preservation package
Individual flight log; NATOPS/qualification records; mission reports; aircraft bureau/tail numbers; crew lists; strike/after-action reports; mishap records.

- Institutional purpose: Understand why the record was created and what it was designed to record.
- Corroboration: Seek independent records; copies and derivatives from one source do not create independence.
