Orders, Assignments, Deployment & Travel Records

MREC-04: Records directing or authorizing duty, reporting, detachment, deployment, transfer, mobilization, demobilization, PCS/TDY travel, and related movement.

What this record can establish

What duty or movement was authorized; reporting/detachment dates; unit/duty station; travel purpose; amendments and changes when documented.

What it does not establish automatically

An order can authorize an event without proving it was carried out exactly as written. Actual performance may require rosters, travel vouchers, logs, or other corroboration.

Preservation package

Original orders and every amendment; endorsements; reporting/detachment records; itineraries; vouchers; receipts; movement manifests when available.

  • Institutional purpose: Understand why the record was created and what it was designed to record.
