Article 134 Enumerated Offenses
Article 134’s statutory General Article is not, by itself, the complete list of offenses prosecuted under Article 134. The Manual for Courts-Martial separately enumerates offenses in Part IV. This page tracks the current 2024 MCM enumerated list as a distinct source-controlled layer.
Why this is separate from statutory Article 134
- Statute: 10 U.S.C. § 934 supplies the General Article.
- MCM Part IV: the President supplies enumerated Article 134 offenses, elements, explanations, maximum punishments, and sample specifications.
- Version control: older manuals contain offenses and numbering that later moved into standalone UCMJ articles. Do not use an older Article 134 list as though it were current.
- Current-edition rule: use the 2024 MCM together with later operative presidential amendments, including Executive Order 14130 where applicable.

Research status
The Article 134 Enumerated tab in the MilitaryClaims Source of Truth Registry separately tracks each offense’s MCM paragraph, page, elements status, lesser-included-offense status, maximum-punishment status, effective-date/version caveat, appellate-authority status, Source IDs, verification date, and review cadence.
With the exception of the currently verified Sexual Harassment maximum-punishment row, deeper punishment/LIO/case fields remain marked for further transcription unless the current MCM source has been specifically checked. That is intentional: the registry should show uncertainty rather than fill a legal gap from memory.
